Antonio Matias, a 54 years old Portuguese has just become the champion of the European Poker Tour Vilamoura, winning a fantastic prize of €404.793.
He played the final heads up against Pierre Neuville, but in this occasion the French poker player had to be content with the second position, and the €257.681 of the second prize.

FIRST DAY RESULTS
Counting the players that started the competition during the day 1A and 1B, a total of 322 started this popular poker tournament. From those 322 almost a 20% are from Portugal, and overall there are a great European participation, with a lot of players arriving from France, Spain and Germany.
The high participation made possible to accumulate a prize poll of €1.561.700 which means that the winner will bring home €404.793.
Form the 322 players that started the tournament, only 177 managed to arrived to the second day.
So far, the list of players with more accumulated chips is as follows:

THE BEGINNING OF THE EPT VILAMOURA
The first stop of the sixth edition of the European Poker Tour started yesterday in Portugal and will be finishing the following Sunday. As the majority of big poker tournaments, the chosen poker modality was No Limit Hold´em.
In this occasion the buy in price was €5.000 in order to obtain the 30.000 chips needed to start the competition.
During those days, there will be also five side tournaments:

-€300 No Limit Holdem only for girls
